"I'd like you to go to your most perfect spot, perfect moment"

    Tears. All the way through.

Man, I really couldn't keep it together on this second watch, everything came together, everything just hit me, even more than the first time. Colman Domingo and Clarence Maclin give all-time performances with astounding support from the ensemble cast, largely made up of real artists from the RTA program, just incredible. Perfect pacing and character work just grabs hold me and doesn't let go. Sing Sing is truly something special.

What a movie, awesome score, great performances, extremely smart script.

I loved every twist and turn, what started off as an extremely poignant topic turned into something I never expected. For how striking the subtext of every scene was, the ending was surprisingly subtle and I wish I got a little more out of it. There's definitely a lot of hidden themes and layers looming in the background of this movie, i'm excited to dive deeper with a rewatch.

Why does no one want that red typewriter, that thing is sick af

Babylon gives off a magical feeling. The party scene is one of the most lively, vibrant, and insane scenes in a film, probably ever. In my opinion, the first hour of this thing is perfect and then it gets a little messy.

Damien Chazelle succeeds at telling a unique story filled with dynamic themes. I’m not sure if I’ll ever know how to feel about the ending but it was definitely something.

Peter Jackson’s Braindead walked so this could run…

This works really well in pretty much every way, but for me, it goes a bit too far. The absurdity of the last 30 minutes just kind of dilutes the really strong questions that the rest of the film was so expertly forcing the audience to confront throughout the first half. I think a lot of casual movie watchers will walk out of this and just say, “what the fuck was that??” rather…
