A worth update of the original, Chuck Russell’s ‘88 entry changes the derring-do of the original on the part of the authorities into a conspiracy theory nightmare from which the only hope of rescue is Kevin Dillon’s rebellious outsider Brian Flagg and Shawnee Smith’s plucky cheerleader Meg Penny. Special effects are quite good for the time, plus the entire film is only an hour and a half long so it never wears out its welcome.

Foolish Bride, Naive Bridegroom 1967
Charming film from Taiwan's post-Civil War period where the norms of society were still being worked out and our young lovers endure a cavalcade of errors and miscommunications between their families. Excellent performances throughout and the use of musical songs by the characters makes it an all-rounder in terms of something for everyone.
