  Antichrist 2009

  Well, it's Lars.

  I got mixed feelings about this one. Antichrist is controversial for a reason, but that doesn't really bother me, I can take a lot. A better question is, should I? I feel like from time to time making a film extremely gory ends up just distracting the viewer off of the point of the film. Anyways, I don't have a problem with the gore per se but I do think Lars could have gotten his point across…

  Dunkirk 2017

  I went in to Dunkirk with really high expectations having heard so many praises. Happily I can say I wasn't disappointed. Visually the film is brilliant, cinematography is on point with beautiful shots catching the horrific atmosphere extremely well. Zimmer's score alongside the camera work make the viewer completely sucked into the war zone. The story is told very well but the pacing could have used some tuning as it from time to time moves a little too slow. Acting jobs are done well across the board and even Harry Styles whom I did not expect much from surprised me pleasantly.

  Alien: Covenant 2017

  Pleasantly surprised with this one as I was mainly expecting a full-on action film with not much substance but the story actually managed to keep me hooked and I even enjoyed to ending, however predictable it may be. The horror days of Alien seem to be far gone but I still think these newer ones are a fun time. Some over the top action could have been cut but overall this wasn't bad at all.
