“You’re the sun. You’re the fucking sun.”
I hope someone describes me one day like the way Bay described Elizabeth. This is a delectable film that made me gasp a few times purely with the beauty of the shots. The part where Elizabeth & her cousin swim in the lake was so lovely I shook my head at its sheer gorgeousness.
I giggled & felt heartbroken & was enthralled throughout. The soundtrack by Camille is perfect. I don’t think I can capture in words how wonderful this film is, there’s no point in me trying.
Watch it. In a cinema.

If you’re going to watch this film, watch it in the cinema. It’s too beautiful to not see it on a big screen. I can’t stop thinking about the landscape shots of the Irish countryside and beaches, the light streaming through windows of tiny cottages onto crosses and statues of Mary - so very Irish. Martin McDonagh said he captured the West Coast of Ireland as a character itself.
