Will Barbie be depicted as the princess with impossible body standards or the modern wide-eyed post-Kelly Sheridan animation? Here a reinvented Barbie is brought into the world in a way that's reminiscent of Enchanted. My thoughts?
-Compared to Enchanted, rollerblading is definitely a more graceful way to travel across the multiverse of Barbieland to California. However, it really didn't need to happen thrice onscreen. I get the hype of Will Ferrell and his men-in-black minions, but no.
-The patriarchy affects…
The songs are still stuck in my head. There's a lot to unpack here:
-Ok the aunt messing up their names is highkey rude but there are 12 of them and she made it worse by dressing them up in communistic clothes

-is Felix tha parrot Indian? Let's go, diversity!
-holy shit, there's a HOLE in the floor
-Dancing is a curse
I just love this movie and its resemblance to the sound of music but on 2x the speed and no context

Ranked as #1 on my list of Barbie movies for its iconic scenes and songs. This includes:
- The princess duetting a song about how she had servants when the pauper was just breaking down about being made to work like a servant
- Also they look nothing alike?? And no explanation was provided about why they do??? They aren't even sisters. Guess their main similarity is being white
- The prince's kink: dressing up
- The closet is glass…
