Even if Amélie runs out of steam by the third act, pursuing a romance that's not particularly compelling aside from its eccentricity, it's impossible not to feel charmed and delighted by the film's style and pizzazz.

In a beautifully filmed prequel that sadly, hardly feels essential, Pearl gives a stage to an unsettlingly fantastic Mia Goth performance, which could've been utilized to better project the films themes, had the character's unraveling been better conceptualized.
It could've benefited from more consistent pacing, building tension, but regardless, Nope is yet another incredibly well-conceived and ambitious film from Peele; awakens a fear that you didn't know you had.
