Lowkey freeform jazz in movie form.

Cinematography was on point, I couldn’t get enough of the bloom effect they went for, and the slow burn pacing worked brilliantly in its favor. Dinner tables scenes went so crazy I want to rewatch just for them alone!

Do the Right Thing (1989), but French it up a little.
“faire la bonne chose” if you will.

The ending, and to be frank, the entirety of this had me shook. Three equally impressive performances that continually bounce off of one another brilliantly, digging deeper into each of their perspectives on how to stay tough when in reality they are just as scared as anyone else. Holds up immensely. Seamless, timeless filmmaking.

    What is going on?!

That is the question. Asked many times over and over in this film, and asked by every living soul on this planet. A Serious Man expertly pinpoints its lens on the chaos of life, and our constant and unfulfilled desire to answer WHY. Why do bad things happen to me? What did I do wrong? What is the meaning behind it? As badly as we want there to be a resolution to our problems and find the true answer, the reality is, it is simply not there. And in the end of it all, sometimes you simply have to help yourself.

Call me @redtoboggan cause I’m throwin up the four for the trans community

One of A24s most impactful and creative films yet. This left me stunned and wanting an immediate rewatch. So creative in its metaphorical storytelling with a beautiful backdrop of colors and cinematography. This definitely doesn’t have enough discourse now, but see it being a much more popular movie as time goes on.
