Final Destination 5 2011
I think the fact that I binged this franchise kinda fatigued me a bit. It's the fifth movie, we've been through this song and dance, we already know what 90% of the movie is gonna be.
This one in particular had the most sequel energy. The "killing someone to gain their time" was a meh addition to the whole "lore" of it. It does add to the themes of controlling death.

Final Destination 3 2006
Definitely doesn't bring anything new to the table (probably even more formulaic than the second film) but this has by far my favorite group of characters so far. Mary Elizabeth Winstead definitely has the best leading performance as Wendy, even though her character itself isn’t. Her screams are top-tier.
The kills, as cheesy and sometimes ridiculous as they are, are definitely more memorable than those in the previous installments. However, the premonition this time is much more disappointing; as scary…

Companion 2025
This felt like an elongated sitcom episode, or like one of those specials where the plot stretches out into two or three episodes. Or like an episode of an anthology series. All the cutaway scenes, the running "sex bot" joke that was already stale the first time it was made, and how exaggerated the whole situation is.
But I love it so much, and we need more of it!

Mānoa Valley 2023
It's truly refreshing to see films set in Hawai’i that actually tell the stories of those who've lived there. Normally, films use Hawai’i as a backdrop and reiterate typical clichés rather than incorporating the rich and diverse culture, history, and stories of the people living here.
I do hope to see more rising filmmakers from Hawai’i as it is important for people to know that we have stories to tell as well.
