Arguably the most anticipated film of 2024, Anora’s pre-release trailers and teasers built up a framework that smoothly correlated with contemporary cinema; however, the final product is far from those foundations.
Genre is a funny thing. Many filter their tastes through this label, and others don’t mind the system at all. I’m one who considers genre while watching a piece, but it never dictates my ratings.

Spectacle: an overused term (used by yours truly) to describe an absolute grandiose visual experience.
And, Lawrence of Arabia is a visual vista. Few films in history establish and retain perfection with each and every composition. Each slow pan or steady shot in this film oozes beauty. Also, the precise pacing allows one’s eyes to drift across the frame, appreciating every single detail.
