There's a special place in my heart for this movie. 7th watch in cinema. Best 22 hours and 24 minutes of my life :))
Easily one of the best musical film adaptations, if not the best. This was such a good idea. This film took everything from what was already an incredible stage musical and brought it to a whole new life. Smiling all the way through. Crying by the end. Impatient for Part 2 to come out next year, but after seeing this, I know it'll be worth the wait :)
Movie of the year. Incredibly visual, moving and entertaining right throughout. Amazing to think it's the work of a Melbourne director (Michael Gracey - also did The Greatest Showman). Such a unique approach to a biopic, depicting him as a monkey to accentuate his mindset of "doing it for others, not himself." It's so good!!!!!
