Look Back 2024
Too sentimental. Completely fails in its realism. Characters are flat, but boy do they vibrate them. Animation functions the same way, humorously. I liked a few scenes near the beginning, I suppose. Artist who you think is much better than you being a fan of yours is a pretty good character dynamic, if it were explored.

I Saw the TV Glow 2024
The trans allegory is muddled and unconvincing, as well as needlessly cruel to a protagonist whose only crime is inaction. Ending takes the mental despair often felt in pre-transition and makes it a fact of the external world: an evil, alien world without empathy to accommodate Schoenbrun's Grimms-like cautionary fairy tale, and what for?
