  So many beautiful shots in this movie… but fell kind of flat amidst the “wait I don’t get it” and “what are all these garbage angles”. All in all i would rewatch without my parents and maybe on the big screen. Although, it was sweet to hear the way they connected with 1960s era setting.

  it’s a weird experience to watch a movie, see it unfold, and have it be everything that you expected it to be…in a wonderful sort of way (sidenote: really reminded me of remains of the day by kazuo ishiguro. wonder if it’s a japanese cultural phenom abt values of service/duty?)
