I don't have a long analysis for this film but Blitz is essentially an expansion of the moment in Titanic (1997) where Rose (Kate Winslet) gets on the lifeboat despite wanting to stay with Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) so she jumps back onto the boat and they run to find each other on the ship. Substitute the relationship between the two characters (a romance versus a mother and son), the setting (on the Titanic in 1912 versus on land in Britain during World War II), and the length of time they are separated (a few minutes versus days) and you get Blitz.

Protocol 1984
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
[It's been far too long since I penned a film analysis so I am a little rusty, especially since I didn't take notes on the film. My vocabulary and analysis need work but I had to dip my toe in again and a film like this may just be the practice I need. I have far better analyses so please go easy on me for this one.]
While Protocol may not be a great film, it certainly did intrigue me…

Mister Roberts 1955
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Mister Roberts features a classic and brilliant performance from Henry Fonda. This is exactly the kind of role that Fonda gravitated towards and what makes him one of the most inspiring and significant leading figure in American cinema.
Like many of his roles in his most successful films (12 Angry Men, The Grapes of Wrath, The Ox- Bow Incident, Young Mr. Lincoln- to name a few), Fonda plays a natural born leader who fights injustice through words and peaceful protests.…

Double Indemnity 1944
Wow.
Even though I was able to predict a few major revelations, it didn’t matter. I was still fully invested and it ultimately left me in awe. This is definitely one of the best noir films I have ever seen.
This film felt like it was one of Alfred Hitchcock's best films yet he didn't direct it. Billy Wilder's Double Indemnity had a few similarities with a film he would make six years later: Sunset Boulevard.
I'm sure I will go more in depth on this film in addition to comparing it with Sunset Boulevard after I rewatch both films.
