Man with a Movie Camera 1929
endeared by the convo after with the sweet Emory community about propaganda and soviet ideas of gender and labor...but what hit the most for me was the fearlessness (cockiness!?) of the camera. weaving through traffic and on the back of cars and hoisted above rivers! a commitment to image and movement - even when the camera is a stranger. the camera can never be strange again but we can remain committed to it

Megalopolis 2024
just as we encourage our children to think outside the box and color outside the lines, may we extend the same grace to aging artists (who have already “proved” themselves!!) and find pleasure in the triumphs and failures of a piece of capital N New cinema! hanging megalopolis up on my fridge :)
