I really disliked it. Acting was good, and likes the 70s vibes, but why add the pedophilia? It makes little sense, their core identities (lost in her 20's and cocky but wanting to grow up) could've remained the same in a legal relationship. I was not rooting for an ending for them, but I also wasn't rooting for the journey. Weird dead ends, too many side characters that could've been better fleshed out stories. It was what otherwise could've been a nice but kinda funky romance story ruined with adding an 'edgy' age gap 🤷

Excellent in so many ways. There's nothing I can imagine that would make it better. The sweltering anxiety and pressure through lighting, music, and cuts really did feel like a horror film. When parts were relieving there was always a background tension of what was going to boil over - her realtionship with Max, her career prospects, her relationship with Maia, her spoilt upbringing, her relationship with food, or her choice of degree. It was all building relatable amounting pressure that made the film feel so expansive despite being set in one house.

It felt like Wes was asked to make a new film, he had three random plots he pulled together, and relied on aesthetics to see the film through. Only redeeming part was the first 'story' with the imprisoned artists.

Never amazing depictions of women in his work, but more clear than ever in this that they were there to aid male characters plot lines.

An unnecessary amount of characters - Owen Wilson's short appearance felt like he forgot to cast him so added that in.
