Heretic 2024
I believe this is a cautionary tale for the youth who have been insisting, “let him cook”.
There are some people you simply should not allow to cook - not a pie, and definitely not on religious theory.
But yeah first half is great, between this and Companion I am fully bought into Sophie Thatcher’s stardom. The ending didn’t work for me but I really enjoyed every prop getting paid off.

R pats may be my favorite actor now??? He’s so fantastic in this, such a little freak, continuing his fascinating weird voice work from The Boy and the Heron.
Love R pats, love the creepers, love that this movie dares to ask “would you have a threesome with yourself”! Didn’t love the insert of Trump, felt a little on the nose without exploring it very deeply. But I really do love Toni Collette!
If I ever have the urge to rewatch then I’ll bump this to four stars!

Julia Ducournau might be, in my humble opinion, one of the greatest directors alive. This movie didn’t speak to me on quite a spiritual level like Raw did because I’ve never been pregnant. There is so much to love about this, and I trust every other reviewer will give June Squibb her much deserved flowers. June is the star of the film, but I was also just tickled by how my own back yard North Hollywood is the other star of the film!!! The lamp store is gone but what a memorial it has in this film.
