Mickey 17 2025
Two stars for RP, but that’s about it. Marc Ruffalo as Space Donald was funny for about 5 seconds, but the political messaging felt obvious and honestly, a bit lethargic. I’ve been told Parasite is worth the watch, so I guess Bong Joon Ho fumbled on this one. Wish he’d delved more into Mickey’s identity kaleidoscope/“are you afraid to die”-arc. They could have omitted the entire alien genocide plot and the movie would have been just as good, if not better.

The Girl with the Needle 2024
This true story-thriller was truly unsettling, giving Poor Things-aesthetics mixed with Scandinavian noir vibes. Due to the nature of the story, I worried they would serve GoT-type gore scenes, but they didn’t: My stomach was turning because of the eerie vibes and stellar acting, not the images—which they managed to keep classy even in the most horrifying moments. Very Danish.
