  So glad I watched this movie. The first few minutes blend the visual design of films like Alien with some dated CGI and a hints of surrealism in the atmosphere, but then the main plot point hits and everything else about the film quickly falls into place. Moon is a deeply humanist work of art, despite its rough edges, with an ending that seamlessly blends heartbreaking isolation with uplifting triumph.   It’s a Christmas special without any heart or soul, containing virtually no meaningful connections to the holiday season both in its aesthetic and in its music. You can’t just insist that you’re bathing in the Christmas spirit, when the evidence on screen gives the audience no reason to believe you! It’s bad and is giving nothing to us.
