  I have a huge soft spot for early era Dark Castle produced movies, and Ninja Assassin fits right in with the likes of Ghost Ship and Thirt13en Ghosts. By no means is it a good movie, the plot meanders, the writing is terrible, the direction feels inexplicable at times, but there is a charm to the gore, the sound effects, the over-the-top fight choreo, and Rain, of course (I had pictures of him hung up in my teenage bedroom).

  I appreciate how unabashedly queer this movie was. I do not appreciate how they kept having to insert up close reaction shots during big musical dance numbers.

  Do you know how nice it is to see more than one fat woman in a movie?

  Look, it's far from a perfect movie, but it's a sweet little thing with some solid laughs, a great cast, and some real sincerity. Feels like the evolution of a classic Ferrell comedy, and I'm good with that.

  Hootin', hollerin', kickin' my legs. Keanu could get mushy on me any day off the week.

  But why does the whole soundtrack sound like Metal Gear Solid? Gotta be intentional on Kojima's part.
