A Woman Is a Woman 1961
Super super… boring. I liked what the film was aiming to accomplish; there was great coloring, lots of whimsy, cool camera work, but other than that… it was pretty bad. I feel so seen by the other comments mentioning the sound design, bc wtf was that

Challengers 2024
The story gets lost amidst the terrible pacing. I hated the constant shifts between timelines, and the jarring synth score that would play at the oddest times, then abruptly leave. There's also an overwhelming focus on the strange connection between tennis and sex… which… comes off as completely pretentious. The ending, which was the best part of the film, lasted for about five minutes before a sudden and inconclusive finish
If u wanna see a real tennis movie watch Wimbledon with Kirsten Dunst and Paul Bettany 😗

Glass Onion 2022
Personally, I didn’t love the plot of the predecessor, but at least that one had style and intimacy. Glass Onion is filled with so many cameos, name drops, and Google ads that it distracts from the suspense of real revelations. Glitzy, star-studded mystery movies aren’t fun when they’re hyper-self-aware. Didn’t like the structure here either. There’s some exposition in the beginning, before immediately launching into 40 minutes of flashbacks

Knives Out 2019
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I really enjoyed the first 30 minutes of world building. The cinematography and quasi Ralph Lauren aesthetic were executed stunningly. But beyond that, it was a disappointment for me. By revealing who the (assumed) killer was so early, it replaced the whodunit narrative with following the suspect try to get away with murder instead. I would’ve been more interested in the story from Benoit’s perspective, rather than Marta’s. Overall, I wanted more mystery. Shrug
