What a sweet, lovely little gem of a film. Can’t think of one person I wouldn’t recommend this to. Far less twee than advertised, instead laugh out loud funny and incredibly heartfelt. Great music, too. Writer and star Tim Key slowly outs Charles (who I would die for) as the real main character, and the heart and soul of the film. Laughed, cried, had a wonderful time.

Paranormal Activity 3 2011
Of the first three Paranormal Activity movies (the only good ones), three is by far the best. The scene with the camera on the oscillating fan is so fucking creepy, with the sheet hanging silently behind the babysitter before it falls. Setting it in the late 80s is what makes it novel and sets it apart from the first two - the technology is different, and its use is deftly handled. Love this one.

The Apprentice 2024
Sebastian Stan and Jeremy Strong are phenom in this. I liked that it didn’t make Trump a victim - whoever might have been perceived as a true villain was inevitably treated far, far worse by Trump. It was always in him! But I struggle to find a purpose for this movie’s existence. Oh well. An enjoyable, vile watch.
