  This film, based on Philip Roth's Pulitzer Prize-winning book and directed by Ewan McGregor, is not high or low. As with any book adaptation, we need to be lenient and understand that they're different mediums of art.

  Realism in movies is a trait I'm drawn to because it's not something we're accustomed to seeing. The reality of love, violence, suspense, and horror are shocking because they're so rare. With this in mind, I'd admire Sean Baker for making his films. There are several harrowing scenes in this movie, and kudos to Mickey Madison because they revolve around her scenes.
