investigative thrillers is one of my favourite sub-genres, this was an ok entry, but nothing like iterations like Spotlight. as much as the investigation itself is thrilling, and it's satisfying to see Weinstein brought down, the most interesting part of these stories is always the systematic element that allows this abuse to be perpetuated and covered up. whereas Spotlight went in on uncovering the system that enabled abuse, this film doesn't go deep enough on that element. it's not bad…
