  THE MARTIAN is a film for the quote-unquote geeks, those friends of yours whose Instagram bios inform you that they are, really, a "total nerd." They argue over which trilogy is best but only as a means of parroting what they've seen on The Big Bang Theory, as if that is a truer representation of nerd-dom and, thus, fodder for emulation.

  Having also watched DON’T LOOK UP and BLACKHAT recently, I see CONTAGION as a flick more about the state of information in a Reddit-pilled world than any prediction of a certain pandemic. 

  The delivery may want for personability, but it’s a posthuman treatment. The hard cuts, unfinished storylines, and stars buried in haste all amount to a portrait I expect we’ll see realized through handheld footage in a near future’s salient documentary about life during the 202Xs’ implosion phase.
