“Next time is next time. Now is now.”

If you like Nomadland, Aftersun, and Past Lives, this is a film for you. There is something about this film that speaks to something so deep in my soul which makes me absolutely adore it. All I’ve ever wanted is a simple life with simple pleasures and this film really triggers the part of my brain that desperately desires that.

“I guess I’ve still got some more healing to do”
    “You’re getting there, though”

When I watched this the first time I didn’t really understand it. It’s only watching it through again that I finally understand the beauty of it. The Darjeeling Limited explores grief, loss, childhood trauma, love, and loneliness in just 90 minutes. And somehow it does so so effortlessly that it feels like a warm hug at the same time.

This just took first place as my favourite Wes Anderson film.

This was too on the nose to be good. They crammed too much in for no reason and it didn’t really make any sense. So many unnecessary plot points. Not my film at all.

I think the beauty of Nomadland is that everyone can look at it and see a different thing. To me, it is a story about home and family. But you may watch it and see something completely different.
