  I'm going to start this out by saying that I've never been a horror fan by any metric. My knowledge of the great classic slasher movies is more like a continuous game of broken telephone where I've pieced together my understanding of the stereorypes, cliches and tropes from the huge amount of parodies and satirizations I've run into over the years...
