  A slow-burn tragedy, a black comic masterpiece. Set in 1923 on a desolate Irish Island, The Banshees of Inisherin is beautiful, bizarre and painful. Makes you think- is there any point in trying to bring friendship and light into a dark unforgiving world which offers no easy place for it? Colm has his answer, and Pádraic has his answer, and these two opposing character’s views on everything are what make the film great for me.
