This was great, very convincing performances and some solid classic Wilder direction. I felt as fantastic as the last 15 minutes were they deserved more time.

This was cute and visually pleasing. Hepburn and Chevalier were great, unfortunately Cooper not so much. Definitely feels like a long movie but I was expecting a bit more of a payoff. The buildup to Ariane’s father putting two and two together was great and then Flannagan’s reaction was also good but I wish he had let go and left her behind. Sure it would’ve made for a much sadder ending but I think it would’ve been much more profound…

The Seven Year Itch 1955
Marilyn Monroe is everything in this pretty, lighthearted comedy. It paradoxically appeals to the fantasies of and satirises the average married, middle-aged man. Some funny lines (‘I’ll have you know I had a peanut butter sandwich and two whisky sours!’), but the story doesn’t have much depth. Ewell was alright, but his role was certainly not likeable.
