A faithful adaptation of the first Ace Attorney game, in terms of writing, events, and the general vibe, especially for Turnabout Goodbyes.
That being said, the film having to be condensed to about two hours did not leave a ton of room to contain the pacing and character development of the original game. Around 2/3 of the runtime is centered around the final case in the original game (not counting Rise From The Ashes), Turnabout Goodbyes, which is not terrible…
Barnyard is a movie that is not smart or well written, but it definitely has some heart to it. For as dumb as the movie and the concept of it are, you know, a movie about a group of talking animals running a barn defending chickens from coyotes. You’ve heard it all before.
This film is terrible. The humor is appalling, the writing is a vomitorium, and the main character is a complete scumbag, upon many more criticisms. It is indeed all true, I even said this is one of the worst films I’ve ever seen, it is.
But gosh darn it, it’s why at the same time, I love this film for how revoltingly awful it is, it’s grown on me as time has gone on.
