It's never laugh-out-loud funny, but it's so utterly clever and charming that it's impossible not to enjoy, especially for those of us who have worn out our VHS copies of the original trilogy.

The Wild Robot 2024
A very fine film - beautifully animated with a gorgeous score. The story seemed a bit unoriginal, and the characters lacked the depth I was expecting (this is not Wall-E or Toy Story 3), but still a very solid outing from DreamWorks.

This has been marketed as a fairy tale, but it's certainly the most unpleasant fairy tale I've ever experienced. The first half follows a bunch of spoiled kids engaging in all sorts of mindless debauchery with impunity, while the second half has all of the characters yelling over each other with a record number of f-bombs. If this is the best picture of the year, maybe I don't love movies as much as I thought I did.
