Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief 2010
When you’ve read the books and waited desperately for your favorite 12 year old loser to discover he’s a demigod, this movie is probably a let down. But since I wasn’t this was fine, the dialogue wasn’t great but I have to give he screenwriters credit for simplifying and condensing a really leaden plot.
It was fun, not too scary for a 9 year old and made a hero come to life. They could have stayed a bit truer to Annabeth and I missed Clarisse and Aries but this was fine. I’ll probably have to watch the second and will demand popcorn in return.Translated from by

The Idea of You 2024
This movie is the equivalent of a root beer float- it’s sweet, fizzy, a little decadent and you probably haven’t had one in a while. It’s less romcom than I’d hoped, more rom than com but it was cute and they used to make like 30 movies like this a year that you’d eventually see on TNT when you got home a 8pm on Tuesday. It was refreshing in the way that I’ve totally seen it before yet not with these exact players. Now off to find some root beer.
