Okay guys, here is my humble opinion:
I didn’t exactly like the movie for a multitude of reasons.
Visually - it was giving Stanley Kubrik, David Lynch & Tarantino, which was interesting to watch, but the CG and Matte paintings threw me off.
Although I do enjoy a theatrical look, the inconsistency of the pictures and seemingly the quality was uneasy to the eye at times.
Storywise, I was a bit bored tbh.
Unfortunately, I was left cold by the characters…
Went to the movies for the second time and I think - especially for the last song - the movie is dragging the timing a bit too much.
Since it’s longer than the original, a lot of material is added during the songs what I find quite disappointing because it takes away the natural flow that the musical had.
But - all in all a solid movie and I‘m looking forward to seeing the second one.
(I am also mildly biased because I like Ariana…)
