    It's a killer (harhar) premise and I think Olivia Holt and Mason Gooding deliver some great performances. They have an effortless rapport with each other that makes for some very easy watching.

    I do wish the romance and horror elements were slightly better enmeshed though. It felt more like a typical slasher that involved a love story, not like a full combination of the two genres. As a romcom girly I felt shortchanged!

    But this feels like the kind of thing that could be a solid franchise and I think they could perfect the balance in a future installment.

    I think this mostly works! Maybe I just related too hard to Ariel (Ayo Edibiri) saying her plan is to "write about famous people because famous people are inherently fascinating" but I loved her as a protagonist, both the performance and her general characterization felt like a great point of view for the audience.
