  Hmmmmm it was interesting for sure…interesting look into the queer history around body piercing in the US and interesting to see that everything Fakir did (including his name change) was cultural appropriation. Idk man it was not what I was expecting.

  I’m at a complete loss. I was uncontrollably sobbing in ragtag. And then all through the q&a with the director after. Queerness, transness, disability, fear, shame, family issues, and cultural/social isolation…..I’m RUINED. Learned a lot about gender and transness in Mexican culture too, “si no lo veo no lo creo”, there’s no word for “genderqueer” Or “transgender”, just language for describing a transition from one binary to the other; transness doesn’t even fully exist in the language.
