  feels like an unnecessary prequel that ultimately falls flat. It lacks the emotional tension and nuanced storytelling that made the first two so nicely made. The noise treatment is inconsistent (the blasting generator is ridiculous), which undercuts the central premise of the series. What made Quiet Place 1 and 2 so special was the careful balance of silence and tension, the subtle interactions, teaching survival to your kids. 
  Kuddos to the kitty. The rest is bleh
