I do have an understanding of the cultural and historical significance of this cult classic, but honestly about 90% of this feels like a very long (yes, even at 76 minutes) version of Ween's video for "Push th' Little Daisies", with the constant eating and childish horseplay. Maybe these "Daisies" were the true inspiration for their nonsense in that video?
Normally I'd give a 4 star rating to the original theatrical version, but the director's cut went so radically hard that I'm giving this version a 5 out of 5. It took a turn for the very dark in the final act, and then doubled down on this darkness and turned it up to 11!
