Hated the ending and most of the reveals, yet I mostly had fun watching this anyway. The set up and dynamic between the three leads in the first half was compelling. There's enough good ingredients here that could have made for something far more intriguing. I would have loved to see the film lean into the supernatural; a man who discovers some ancient horror and then endeavors to act as a missionary of sorts for his newfound religion. A number of different alternate directions might have made this one of my favorites, instead I was left rolling my eyes yearning for what could have been.

This was the most transfixed I've been by a film in quite some time. If I could rate a film above 5 stars here this one would would earn it. Deeply philosophical without ever being overbearing. The score, visuals, acting... everything comes together to create some truly enthralling storytelling that I will never forget.
