Gorgeous, dreamy, and hypnotic, yet overwhelming.

Excellent performances, particularly from Daniel Craig, but the entirety of the plot and its characters didn't appear to have the necessary momentum (although one can argue and point out the “dance” scene). The movie seemed to become overly reliant on the ambiguity it could provide and fell short of its potential.

Surely, this is still a fascinating topic to discuss (over coffee) as it tackles sexuality, identity, addiction, and isolation. Who would not want…

Rewatching this with THE movie buddy— my best friend, totally became a different experience. Who knew it would bring us to tears?

“Don't be sad. Because things are going to change, but they'll be better. You know? You're gonna take this huge, great, beautiful step.”

“But what about you? What's gonna happen to you?”

“I'm gonna be fine. So don't worry, okay? I'm gonna be... I'm gonna be fine.”

This modern adaptation of a cult classic does not fail to shine. Ariana Grande's portrayal of Glinda's conflicted and complex character, balancing both humor and vulnerability, nails it for me. Cynthia Erivo, on the other hand, once again proves her cemented status in the industry as a standout talent. Her acting prowess, honed over the years, brings a fierce yet nuanced depth to Elphaba, capturing the character's emotional range and strength.

Wicked leaves an inspiring message about the power of kindness, friendship, and staying true to oneself.
