  Hirayama every morning walks outside, looks at the early morning sky, and takes a deep breath.

  Beautiful and slow. Themes I particularly enjoyed:
  - gratitude with simplicity. Solitude, routine, and beauty
  - time passing. Inevitable change, paired with the eternal nature of curiosity and kindness 
  - consequential strangers

  Exactly my speed for where I’m at rn. A film that’s given me a fresh breath of early morning, and many things to reflect on.

  new good Christmas movie just dropped. 
  this movie smelled like old wood and thick books and the $300 equivalent of axe body spray. I liked the dynamics of power between three people who are dealing with completely different levels of privilege and luck and wasted potential. I love a film about adults and youth finding common ground. I love normal people interacting in the alien world of the rich and trying to get through it alive. I didn’t love the dialogue all the time. A slice of life Oscar bait. Paul Giamatti! Cool.
