I was heated seeing that this movie set up Sissy to only have two options rather than being single and thriving. I guess that wasn’t as much of a reality to sell audiences back then as it is today maybe?
The ending resolution was empty to me but I can see where the movie was trying to go with it. The rating is for the cowboy vibes and Debra Winger

Ok I wasn’t hooked until Ivan’s babysitter and his Russian cronies arrived, and then it became the movie that understandably got the hype it deserved. Killer acting, writing that felt like a crossover of Pretty Woman and a Tarantino film, and thoughtful filmmaking.
I love when I forget that I’m watching a movie and become 100% invested in the story. I was laughing at the exchanges between Ani and the Russians, especially Igor. His character was my favorite, and the last scene was just a needed breath after the chaos Ani went through.
