I never want to watch an action film again unless there are a bunch of trans women and Dev Patel killing fascists.

This was an awesome movie. I'm amazed by all of the production challenges because what comes together is so beautifully done. The action is brutal and enjoyable. The story really works for me, and it made me want to learn more about the sociopolitical history that is the basis for a lot of this film. Amazing revenge film,…

Overall, I really enjoyed this film. I felt like the blend of fantastical or imaginative elements was blended really well, and it did a great job of putting the viewer in the main character's shoes. I thought it was a nice exploration of who is worthy of their dream and the challenges and emotions immigrants experience in the U.S. This felt very personal. My biggest qualm was with the ending, which left me feeling uncertain about the message. I'm glad this film didn't have a dark ending, but I'm not sure the one it had worked for me.

I forgot I had watched this movie before. It is really beautiful, and I love Constance Wu, and I love romcoms, but this just isn't my favorite. I don't actually want them to get together in the end. This movie is so much more about the main character's experiences as a second generation immigrant and issues of class than it is a love story, which makes the love story aspect feel almost weird and tacked on at times. I don't…
