PERFECT DAYS is a poignant story about a man's search for freedom, peace, and beauty, even at personal cost.
This film stuck a personal chord and quickly became an all-time favorite alongside classics like Paris, Texas. I am excited to work my way through Wim Wenders' entire catalog now.
Hirayama's estrangement from his father is a subtle yet significant element that colors the entire narrative. While some critics might label the film as "mundane" or "meditative," I find his defiance…
A highlight of Sundance 2024 was attending a "Hit Man" screening followed by a Q&A with Richard Linklater and Glen Powell. One could describe it as a 21st-century screwball Bonnie & Clyde (but that doesn't do it justice). The film skillfully navigates deep themes of identity while also being wildly entertaining. The audience erupted into applause during a particular scene (y’all will know which one when you see it).
As a huge fan of Bonnie & Clyde, screwball classics, and Texas Monthly, I think HIT MAN is going down as one of my favorite films of all time.
