Having settled more into my mid-30s-post-brooklyn-burbs lifestyle I can definitely relate to Hirayama’s routine, the comfort in the everyday over and over. All these small moments of appreciation he doesn’t miss out on.. the little boy waving goodbye after his mother overlooks his help, the flunky coworker kindness to the boy at the park, or just watching the tree canopy sway in the wind.. I was also impressed with how minimal exposition was needed to convey the essence of his sentiments.
A lot of intense choices, I think some sequences/pieces were kind of intriguing? Def never came together for me though .. the whole was less than the sum of its parts. Aubrey Plaza goated hottie though
