12 Angry Men 1957
This may be hyperbolic, but I don’t see anything like this movie ever happening again.
95% of the movie takes place in one room and consists predominantly of only 12 men speaking. In a 97 minute runtime, you learn exactly who all 12 of these men are at their core. The tension, suspense, and even interruptions feel so organic. The script is flawless, and the cast is wonderful, always finding subtle ways to show us the psychology of their characters. Lee J. Cobb and Henry Fonda couldn’t have been better.
