  I was riveted to the details in this film... The day-in-the-life feel of the control room before the crisis began... The TV brass politics... The technical advances that you got to see birthed in real time (ABC bug overlayed on CBS's broadcast)... And the interspersed real footage -- bonus points for using the real Jim McKay newsreel for all of his spots; because some of his work that day is so ingrained in my mind, anything less than the real…

  I went in to this one cold and was mesmerized. Phenomenal. I want to watch the first 30 minutes on a loop. A master class in establishing the characters, their motivations, and their relationships. It was inevitable that things were going to go south for some, but the slow-boil pace was delivered so expertly. I thought no one could top Mikey Madison for Best Actress this year but dammit if Fernanda Torres didn't change my mind. In my top 5 movies of the year, for sure.

  An absolute delight! Funny, heartwarming, visually stunning, great score, and outstanding characters. It got me in tears at the 60 min mark but then somehow raised the bar to hit me again at the end... fantastic writing.

  Shoutout to the Eddie Murphy "Delirious" easter egg from the bear character towards the end. You've got to be 50+ to pick up on that nugget.
