This is a masterpiece in horror cinema. In the 47yrs since it came out there hasn't been a time when the first 30mins didn't feel timely and relevant. The whole film is an artistic achievement of gore, panic and satire. It's bloody, messy, appalling and a sharp stab at consumerism in the 70's all at once. It's been homaged, referenced both visually and thematically and outright ripped off a hundred times and it still rises above all the rest.
