  Over-eager and gratuitous. We are shown images prematurely, images that would carry more thrust had they been withheld a while longer, given time to “develop.” Garland is shooting in digital where he should use film.

  Still, the camera is fertile as a motif. Our eyes are not made by Nikon. Try as we might, we cannot “delete” images from our memory—or even preserve them well enough.
