Wow. Truly one of the best films I’ve seen in years.
I dislike how so many reviews are so vitriolic against Elizabeth. Yes, she displays some sociopathy. But declarations that she is somehow 'the same' as Gracie are utterly ridiculous, morally baseless and borderline misogynistic. Gracie groomed, raped, and emotionally abused a child. I think Elizabeth's performance shows us, astonishingly well, how I can only imagine it feels to try and honestly embody someone who has done something so heinous…
