What a wonderful movie to watch at the end of the year. The credits only appear after an elongated prelude, as most of this film is about making peace with the past and learning to let go of such a large part of yourself. “One of these days the blackbirds are gonna get me.”

This movie is a little too long, a little too repetitive with its cinematography and choreography, but it goes to great lengths to sell you on the familial connections made by this cosplaying motorcycle troop, and it succeeds in hitting hard for those who value a found family. This movie attempts to bring us closer to an understanding of the word love through the intricacies of Theodore's life. His divorce, his dating attempts, through his friends marriage, and his newfound love in the…

We Need to Talk About Kevin meets Rashomon meets Moonlight. The emotional and tonal pivot that happens in act three completely reinvents this movie. Ryuichi Sakamoto is a god. Let the kids be.
