i've never seen a movie that nails the horror of being a child as well as this. the way kids are cruel to each other, the way adults degrade you, the way you're never given any agency of your own. the fact that it was all actual kids and not like 20 year olds acting in this made it hit even harder.
this is a work of misery and i love it
